I use to suffer from low self-esteem and had no confidence. I was the guy people picked on since it was easy. I’m talking about how normal people would pick on me because I would allow it. So I get it not being confident around others.
But here is the thing, the way you view yourself is how others view you. If you view yourself as not strong, not worthy, or whatever negative image you have. Then you need to change that view.
And the best way to change that view is to start investing in yourself, becoming your own best friend, growing into a new person.
You can’t expect to be confident and have high self-esteem out of thin air. Nope. You have to put the work into yourself.
When you invest in yourself, you naturally grow, you naturally become more confident, you are naturally comfortable in your skin. Regardless of whether you are with people or not, your self-esteem and confidence will stay strong.
Okay, but how do you get there. The answer is simple but requires work.
So to build high self-esteem and confidence you should read books to expand your mind, work out to be fit, find social hobbies you like, travel.
Basically, you want to build a life you enjoy and can grow from. I’ll quickly touch on the points.
Reading: most people don’t read, but you, on the other hand, will read books from a variety of disciplines: philosophy, psychology, fun books, fiction, etc. The more you read and the more variety you read will cause you to expand your mind and see the world in different lenses. And this will help in creating interesting conversations as you have many ideas from the books you have read.
Working out: you can’t only have a sound mind, but need a sound body. Plus when you workout, you realize how far you can push yourself, and this helps build mental resilience.
Social hobbies: find a social hobby YOU like and join once a week. Meeting new people and being more social will help you develop your social skills and learn to be confident around others. It takes practice to be a social person, so go out and have fun doing something with others.
Traveling: try to travel as your budget allows, but traveling, seeing the world, will again help expand your mind, help you create stories. And just challenge yourself to be in an uncomfortable and foreign place.
All of the things I mentioned are to help you become a more well-rounded individual, where you naturally become confident and develop high self-esteem.
Build a passion for life, go out, and live. And you will see that it was always possible to build high self-esteem and confidence when you become active in your own life.
