You need to lose

Yup, you need to lose.

I’m not going to be one of those positive thinking type gurus.

I’m going to be Uncle Bulcha here.

I know it sounds weird saying you need to lose, but let me tell you why.

If you look at the story of every type of hero.

Whether it’s ancient, Marvel, DC, etc. You will notice that the hero can only become the hero after losing.

They could have lost a loved one, a competition, a career, etc.

And through that loss is when their self-transformation begins. They start to see the errors of their old ways, become committed to change, and find a new purpose in life.

You see this with Tony Stark, Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker, Thor, and many more.

There is no hero without a loss of some sort.

So how does this relate to you?

When you lose in something, you have to use it as a way to help your self-transformation.

Instead of bickering and complaining, you need to make the loss more valuable for you.

Mind you, this might require some more losses than you would like, but in the long run, you will become a lot more than the average person.

You turn each loss as fuel for something.

And over time, you become something completely different.

I’ve experienced this.

I went through some traumatic things, had low self-esteem for years, then over time, those difficult times helped propel me to be The Charismatic Nerd.

I’m not saying I am a superhero (I consider myself like Thanos), but my life now has a purpose.

I have my mission, my social circle, a lady that loves me.

All this would have not come to fruition had I not experienced my losing streak in life.

Here’s something to think about:

The people playing it safe are refusing to learn from their losses. What they want to do is prevent as many losses as possible, even the losses that can be valuable to their lives.

As a result, over decades of life, they become so loss-intolerant that their life is as predictable as Sheldon Cooper’s bathroom schedule.

To me, they turn their life into a big L.

They will never ever come close to being a hero in their lives.

But you don’t have to be like that.

Embrace your losses and let it fuel your story where you do become a hero.

You only have one life.

So might as well live it like the hero you know you are underneath and have no regrets about it.
